All Semifinalists from North Hunterdon and Voorhees High Schools Have Advanced
The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District is proud to announce that all of its semifinalists have advanced to Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program competition.
Finalists from North Hunterdon High School are: Trevor Edwards, Cecelia Luciano, Emily Parker, and Angela Yang.
Finalists from Voorhees High School are: Brian Bigdelle, Samuel DeFabrizio, Christina Dornbusch and Jesse Lu.
Out of 15,000 Finalists nationwide, about 8,000 will be Merit Scholarship winners, receiving a scholarship in or around March 2014. Three types of National Merit Scholarships will be offered. Every Finalist will compete for one of 2,500 National Merit $2,500 Scholarships that will be awarded on a state representational basis. About 1,000 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards will be provided by approximately 240 corporations and business organizations for Finalists who meet their specified criteria. In addition, about 200 colleges and universities are expected to finance some 4,500 college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards for Finalists who will attend the sponsor institution.
