Greetings and thank you for your interest in the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District. On October 28, 2024, I had the privilege of being appointed as the new Superintendent of Schools by our Board of Education. Allow me to introduce myself and express my gratitude for this opportunity.
Growing up in Hunterdon County, I attended Kingwood Township School and Delaware Valley Regional High School. During my time at Delaware Valley, I decided to pursue a career in auto repair and enrolled in the Automotive Technology program, ironically, at North Hunterdon High School. In my senior year, my classmate and I placed 1st in the statewide Plymouth Troubleshooting Contest, leading us to ultimately place 13th at the national competition. This success earned me a spot in the Chrysler Apprenticeship Program at Mercer County Community College.
After completing my Associate degree and working at a cooperating dealership, I chose to return to school to pursue a teaching career. Drawn to the practical hands-on approach of Technology Education, I enrolled in the innovative program at Trenton State College (now known as TCNJ). Upon graduating with my teaching degree, I was fortunate to be hired at Stillwater Township School, where I developed and taught an award winning Technology Education program.
During my five years as the technology teacher at Stillwater, I taught myself about computers, networks, website development, and IT infrastructure. These skills led me to my next position as the district Technology Coordinator at North Hunterdon-Voorhees. Mentors during this time encouraged me to pursue advanced degrees, so I enrolled in the Educational Leadership program at Rutgers University, earning both my Master of Education and Doctor of Education degrees.
Throughout my years at NHV, I have had the privilege of holding various roles such as Technology Coordinator, Technology Director, Director of Special Projects, Assistant Principal, High School Principal, Affirmative Action Officer, Anti-Bullying Coordinator, and Assistant Superintendent of Schools. My educational philosophy is simple. Every student has the ability to be successful. It is our job as educators to help them discover what that success will be and how to get them to that destination. I am incredibly proud to now serve as the Superintendent of Schools and am committed to continuously improving our district and propelling it forward.
