North Hunterdon High School’s 2013 yearbook, Regis, has received national recognition as the yearbook was selected to receive the Herff Jones Showcase Award.
The Showcase Award was presented to Editor-in-Chief Alexandra Kaminsky and Faculty Advisor Ms. Lauren Mallia by publisher Herff Jones, to recognize their outstanding achievement in yearbook design and coverage. They received a plaque from Herff Jones to commemorate the award.
“Often people who are not part of the Yearbook world fail to realize just how much time and commitment it involves when creating a yearbook. Herff Jones publishes hundreds of yearbooks, for them to acknowledge North Hunterdon in this way is a great honor! This proves that all of our efforts are appreciated. For that, the yearbook staff and I are extremely grateful to be recognized for all of our hard work!” said Ms. Mallia.
Showcase publications are singled out from all the yearbooks produced by Herff Jones in a given year. Some of the criteria used in selecting the recipients include unity in design and theme development, excellence in layout design and concept, and effective coverage and content. According to Herff Jones, “the 2013 Regis excelled in all of these areas as the yearbook staff told the story of how North students seek to ‘Be Bold’ in all they do.” Be Bold was the theme of the 2013 yearbook.
