Two seniors from Voorhees High School captured second place at a competition held during the Student Television Network Convention in Los Angeles, CA. A total of 11 Voorhees students joined nearly 2,600 other students from across the country at the Convention, which was held March 8to 10, 2013.
The team of Brandon Simanski and Samuel Roth, both seniors from Glen Gardner, competed against 60 other teams in the Movie Trailer competition. Teams were given the movie title “Breakpoint” and then had two hours to write and shoot their concept, with an additional two hours to edit in a supervised environment. Behind the scenes, industry professionals scored all entries. At the closing ceremonies on Sunday, March 10, judges announced that Brandon and Samuel had taken second place in the Movie Trailer Competition.
Voorhees students attending the Convention competed in other competitions such as 30-second Commercial, Man-on-the-Street Interview, and Anchoring and Music Video.
