At its meeting on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, the Board of Education approved changes to the 2012-2013 school calendar as a result of school closures following Hurricane Sandy. The Board decided to forgive two days, which brings the number of school days for students from 182 to 180. This action will eliminate the days that currently need to be made up for each school.
In addition, the Board also voted to extend the school year by one week. As North Hunterdon had one less day to be made up, North’s last day and graduation will be on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Voorhees’ last day and graduation will be on Friday, June 14, 2013. By implementing these options, North Hunterdon and Voorhees will each have 5 days to use for school closures if needed.
