The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District is sponsoring an important program for parents on Monday, November 12 from 7:00-8:30pm. Bullying, Cyberbullying and Youth Depression will be presented by John Halligan, whose son, Ryan, took his own life on October 7, 2003 after being bullied by classmates in school and online. He was 13 years old.
The presentation will cover the lessons learned too late for the Halligan family regarding how to deal with bullying, cyberbullying and teen depression. Parents will be empowered with strategies to take preventive actions with their own children.
The presentation will be held in the theater at North Hunterdon High School on November 12 beginning at 7:00pm. Questions about the program can be directed to Steve Schultz, the HIB Coordinator for the NHV District, at 908-713-4199 ext. 6498 or sschultz@nhvweb.net. All parents are welcome – please join us.
North Hunterdon students will hear a similar presentation during the school day on November 12; Voorhees students will have the presentation on November 13.
