The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District announces the sad news that its long time Board of Education Member and Town of Clinton resident, Louis Pennucci, passed away on July 31, 2012.
“Lou has selflessly served on our Board of Education since 1996, and for over 15 years, he has been a passionate and committed member firmly focused on meeting the needs of our students and families. His strong voice always spoke volumes. We will miss Lou dearly. On behalf of the entire Board of Education, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Barbara and his entire family,” said Beverly Thorne, President of the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education.
On the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Board of Education, Mr. Pennucci represented the municipalities of Franklin Township and the Town of Clinton. During his tenure, Mr. Pennucci served on many Board committees, including Negotiations, Business & Finance, Buildings & Grounds, Personnel, and he was Liaison to the Educational Services Commission (ESC). He also chaired many of these committees. Mr. Pennucci was instrumental in assisting the District to pass a building referendum in 2001 that led to the construction of North Hunterdon High School’s gymnasium, additional classrooms, and the complete refurbishment of the Voorhees High School Performing Arts Center.
“As a Board Member, Lou was always prepared on the issues and cared deeply about our students and their education. His commitment to the students, parents, community members and employees of this district will be greatly missed,” said Dr. Charles M. Shaddow, Superintendent of Schools.
