At the Open House, interested students can visit the campuses, where different shared-time programs are offered for juniors and seniors to focus learning within a career area.
Bartles Campus: 3D Computer Animation, Allied Health, Commercial Arts & Advertising Design, Computer Networking & Cybersecurity, Graphic Design, Healthcare Science/Pre Med, Law Enforcement & Homeland Security, and Principles of Teaching.
Central Campus: Welding and Auto Body Collision Repair, Automotive Services, Automotive Technology, Career Prep Early College, Construction Science, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts and Hospitality, Fire/EMT Academy, and Heavy Equipment Operator Program.
“The best way to understand our programs’ value is to see the customized classrooms, meet with instructors, and understand how our approach engages students in learning both technical and professional skills that support their future success,” said HCVSD Superintendent Dr. Todd Bonsall.
Current sophomores and juniors can apply for the shared-time programs for an early decision by Dec. 15. Students will be notified of acceptance by Jan. 12. Polytech will then transition to rolling admission after Dec. 15 until programs are full. The school will then host a second Open House for those students still considering a shared-time program for next school year. That second Open House will run 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024.
Animal Science is currently the only full-time program offered by Polytech. The district will host separate information sessions for this program and its three full-time Academies, starting with a presentation Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. on the Califon Campus. Those sessions are for current eighth-grade students and their families.
More information about all Open Houses and information sessions for both shared-time and full-time programs offered by HCVSD is available at www.hcvsd.org. Online registration is required for the information sessions.
