Pomptonian Food Service has been contracted to manage the district’s cafeteria program. On this page, you will find information about the online payment service for cafeteria meals, menu information, and contact information in case you have questions about the food services offered in the district.
Cafeteria Menu and Pricing
At the beginning of each month, Pomptonian will update the cafeteria menu. The menu published applies to both North Hunterdon High School and Voorhees High School. Additionally, we provide current price information for menu items. We strive to keep this information current. Please note that prices are subject to change.

Payment in the Cafeteria
The cafeterias at both North Hunterdon and Voorhees High Schools offer an automated point of sale system that allows students to enter their school ID number to access their automated account in order to pay for a meal.
Here is how the system works. Cafeterias have touch screen terminals installed as well as keypads. Students enter their student ID number into the keypad, which brings up their information on the touch screen monitor for the cafeteria worker to see. Information includes the balance on the student’s account, if they are enrolled in the free or reduced meal program, and the student’s picture. Cafeteria staff ring up the student’s purchase, which is automatically deducted from the student’s account as long as money is available in the account. Note: Cash will no longer be accepted starting in the 2017-2018 school year.
Parents can make payments to the student’s meal account in a few ways:
- Parents can deposit money into a student’s account online through PaySchools (see instructions below to set up an account).
- Parents can pay by check, payable to NHV BOE Cafeteria Account. Checks can be mailed or delivered to the Food Services Director, at either high school. As checks are received, they will be entered into the student’s account.
- Students can also give cash or checks to the cafeteria staff when they are purchasing lunch or snacks, which will be entered into the student’s account.
Note: money left in a student’s account at the end of the year will roll over to the next year. Seniors graduating must submit a written request to the food services director in order to receive a refund for left over funds at the end of the year.
Prepayment Option Online through PaySchools:
The cafeteria has switched to PaySchools for online prepayment. Please follow the directions below to create an account. You will need to know your child’s high school ID number, which you can find in Aspen under the Details side tab.
The cafeteria is cashless so an online payment account is required to make purchases in the cafeterias. Students will enter their school ID number into the keypad at the register to pay for cafeteria purchases, deducting from the online account you create.
** Important Note for those that have a PaySchools account from a sending district **
If you have students in BOTH the high school and a sending district (like Clinton Twp.) that uses PaySchools, you have to create two separate accounts in PaySchools because we are two separate districts. You cannot add your high schooler to your existing account for the K-8 district. This means that you will need to have a secondary email address to have a separate account for the high school.
If you have an existing PaySchools account, but ONLY have student(s) in the high school district, you can use that current account. Please delete your students if still listed for the K-8 district and then add them with their high school ID number.
