Extended Research Program (ERP) provides high school students with exposure to research and development in medical biology. Students learn about discoveries and breakthroughs and have the opportunity to conduct their research to showcase their potential and aptitude.
Scholarships for tuition waivers are awarded to high-achieving and financially-deserving students, ensuring accessibility and providing a rewarding opportunity.
ERP alumni have presented their research in local and national science competitions and science fairs. Examples of competitions include the Massachusetts State and Engineering Fair, the Regeneron competition, the Siemens Competition, and the Medical Marvels.
Research project on Brain Tumors & their Genetics
By Abhisri Korrapati, Allen D. Nease High School
I worked on a chronic autoimmune disease resulting from demyelination of the central nervous system (CNS) such as the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves.
My main field of study focused on basic Immunology and the path-physiology, treatments and diagnosis of HIV as a whole. This program helped me develop a strong knowledge base.
We have earlier had students from High Bridge and are reaching out to you to generate student awareness about this opportunity. ERP aligns with the commitment to academic excellence that North Hunterdon HS fosters.
