As we are one month away from the date for graduation, we are reaching out to the Class of 2020 and their parents for feedback on options for graduation (survey link emailed to seniors and parents).
Over the last month, we have been reviewing the Governor’s Executive Orders, guidance from the New Jersey Department of Education, and CDC guidelines to identify all of the possible ceremony options we are allowed to hold for graduation. The Principals have held discussions with senior class officers and some senior parents to get their thoughts on types of ceremonies they would prefer most. We had streamlined the top options to put out in a survey, however, the Governor opened up a new option with his announcement on Wednesday that drive-in social gatherings in vehicles were now allowed so we revised our options again and they are listed in the survey.
We know you have been anxiously awaiting more information on graduation and we hope you can understand that we were waiting as long as we could to see if restrictions would be lifted for a more traditional ceremony. As we are still not able at this time to coordinate an in-person traditional ceremony, we offer the following options for graduation in the survey.
Obviously, the Governor may continue to make changes to restrictions in the next couple of months and we will update you if that occurs and if those changes affect our graduation plans. Thank you for your patience as we work to give the Class of 2020 the best possible graduation we can given this unprecedented time.
Survey results will be shared by Dr. Cottrell in his North Connection videos.
