North Hunterdon senior Eve Glasergreen won the NJSIAA Group 4 meet individual championship Saturday at Holmdel Park.
Glasgergreen’s time of 18 minutes and 15 seconds was a personal best for her and came in 27 seconds of Hillsborough’s Stephanie Mauer in second.
Congratulations to Anna DiMarcello, Kelsey Farbanish, Emily Ehrhart, Kelley McCarten, Amber Caulfield, and Erin Kelley as the Lions team finished third as a team in the race with 131 points to Ridge’s 90 and Hillsborough’s 91, and all three Skyland Conference squads qualified as a team for next week’s Meet of Champions at Holmdel.

Destination Athlete will be giving out a senior scholarship at the Complete Athlete Expo in the convention center in Edison, NJ on Jan. 4. It is a worthwhile scholarship for eligible students. The deadline is December 15, 2014.

Eve Glasergreen repeats and finishes 1st and Sam Layding finishes 3rd in Cross Country Sectionals. The Lady Lions Cross Country team finishes 2nd and the North Boys finish 5th in the NJSIAA North 2 Group 4 Cross Country Sectional Finals on Saturday 11-8-14. The The Lions qualified for the state Group 4 meet by coming in second and fifth as a team.
North Hunterdon senior Eve Glasergreen’s time of 18 minutes and 10 seconds was 43 seconds better than runner-up Katie Delidow of Millburn.

Enrique Melendez curled home a 55th-minute shot from 15 yards to lift fifth-seeded North Hunterdon over fourth-seeded Phillipsburg, 1-0, for the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Boys Soccer Tournament championship on Saturday at Warren Hills Regional. Jake Ferrang was voted the Tournaments Most Valuable Player.

The Lions boys soccer team defeated Phillipsburg 2-1 and won out right the Skyland Conference Raritan Division over Montgomery HS. Michael Finer and Sean Rooney had a goal a piece to help clinch the division title for the Lions. The Lions will play Phillipsburg again on Saturday November 1st for the Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex County Title.

Matt Mohan had two goals and an assist as fifth-seeded North Hunterdon defeated top-seeded and previously undefeated Hackettstown, 3-1, in the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament quarterfinals in Hackettstown.
Michael Finer added a goal for North Hunterdon, which has won nine of its last 11 games, and Nick Eugenio made six saves. Steve Jaxheimer scored a first half goal for Hackettstown.
The Lions will travel to Hunterdon Central on Saturday, October 25 1pm to face the Red Devils in the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Semifinals.
The Girls Cross Country Team takes second place and the Boys take third place in the 2014 Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Cross Country Championships.

Katie Primatic and Libby Cimei lead the Lady Lions to victory last night by defeating Hunterdon Central 2-1. Katie had 7 kills, 4 blocks, 15 Digs and 2 assists while Libby had 12 assists and Sherrie Wang finished with 15 digs.

Ditzel finished with 151 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries, Rob Marron provided a much-needed defensive highlight with a first-half pick-six, and North Hunterdon escaped with a 32-20 victory on Saturday at Hub Stine Field in Plainfield. Ryan McDonald went 8-for-16 for 209 yards and a TD and ran for a 1-yard score.

Samuel Layding finished fourth in the Varsity A race at the Reebok Manhattan Cross Country Invitational Saturday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Layding covered the 4,000-meter course in 13 minutes. The Lions varsity finished fifth, JV third and the Freshmen took First Place.

Eve Glasergreen of North Hunterdon, who announced at the meet that she will attend Cornell, won the girls A race in a Holmdel PR of 18:33. She posted the second-best time of any girl at the massive meet at HolmdelPark, winning the Varsity A race in 18:33. That would have won the “elite” race by 23 seconds. North Hunterdon finished fourth as a team with 118 points

Ryan McDonald passed for 219 yards and a touchdown and ran for 60 yards and two scores as North Hunterdon blew out Scotch Plains 45-14 on Thursday night.
Jordan Ditzel rushed 17 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions, who improved to 3-1 on the season.
Luke Fogel had 111 receiving yards and a 55-yard touchdown catch for North Hunterdon.

Congratulations to the Lady Lion Field Hockey team as they defeated Vernon Twsp. 2-0 in the Preliminary Round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex County Field Hockey Tournament. Molly Walsh set the stage by scoring twice to lead the Lions to victory. Liz Rotolo had 7 key saves to preserve the victory.
The Lions will travel to Voorhees on Friday October 3rd in the First Round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex County Field Hockey Tournament. The game will be played at an earlier time due to the Yom Kippur celebration.

North Hunterdon High School senior Eve Glasergreen ran the second-fastest time by a girl at Greystone Park’s 3.1-mile cross country Saturday morning as she won the senior race at the 35th NJCTC Bernie Magee Class Meet Championships in Morris Plains.
Glasergreen posted a 17:52 time, winning the race by over a minute with Rumson-Fair Haven’s Rachel Lehnert at 18:59.
The Freshmen boys won the Freshmen division. Ray Sellaro and Joe Gallo go 1,2 in frosh race. Sam Layding placed second in the senior race.
