North Hunterdon High School‘s Morgan Harvey takes Gold and led from start to finish this afternoon on the way to winning the NJSIAA Group 4 girls 400-meter intermediate hurdles championship at the NJSIAA Track and Field Championships held at Silver Eagle Stadium in Egg Harbor Township.
For Harvey, it was her third state Group 4 title, adding to her 100-meter hurdles title as a sophomore in 2012 and the intermediates crown last year. Her unofficial time was 1 minute, 1.6 seconds. A University of Tennessee recruit and a two-time Express-Times Girls Track Athlete of the Year, Harvey is ranked No. 2 in the U.S. in the 400 intermediates (1:00.02).
“I wasn’t at all concerned about time,” said Harvey, whose twin sister, Hope, once again held her starting blocks at the beginning of the race. “I thought I ran a pretty good race. I can’t wait until the MoC’s (Meet of Champions on Wednesday).”
