With Michael DelSantro behind the wheel, North Hunterdon is quickly gaining the tight-game experience needed for the pressure-packed moments of a late-season tournament game.
North will surely be ready for any stiff test when tournament time comes around based on recent results. The Lions (7-5) won a pair of tight ball games at home, beating Hunterdon Central by three and Morris Hills by two before falling to Immaculata by two on the road.
DelSantro, who as a sophomore last season led the Lions in scoring, posted 22 points against Hunterdon Central and 22 against Morris Hills, and 20 more in the loss to Immaculata. The junior guard is No. 3 in Hunterdon County at 14.5 points per game and he’s chalked up 31 3-pointers, second in the county.
DelSantro and Wes Reinagel (11.7 ppg., including 18 against Immaculata) have formed an effective 1-2 punch for the Lions.
