Jack Kennedy pitched four innings, allowing no runs and two hits while striking out five and walking one to lead sixth-seeded and defending champion North Hunterdon to a 15-0 victory over 19th-seeded Hopatcong in the first round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament in Annandale.
Matt Wagner went 3-for-4 and knocked in three runs for North Hunterdon. A 10-run fourth inning broke open the game for North Hunterdon. The highlight of the inning was Mike Vallario’s triple. Billy Russo, Dean Severini and John Macce all had singles in the fourth.
North Hunterdon will host 11th-seeded Hunterdon Central in the second round on Saturday
