Congratulations to the following Vikes for making the Honor Roll for the First Marking Period:
If you think you have what it takes to survive, register today for the Second Annual Zombie 5K Run hosted by the Voorhees High School Education Foundation. “In the spirit of Halloween, the Zombie 5K Run is an opportunity to prove what you’re made of while having fun and supporting our students and our community”, said Foundation President Chris Sickels. “Last year’s inaugural race brought out 250 participants. We’re hoping to double that this year.”
As runners make their way through the lush grounds of Spruce Run Recreation Area, Zombies will be lurking nearby. The course is a scenic 5K mostly flat course that both runners and walkers will enjoy.
The race is on Sunday, September 28th, at Spruce Run. The cost is $20 for pre-registration and $25 on the day of the race (student registration is always $20). The event starts at 12:00 noon; race begins at 2pm. Pre-registration is now open and a free T-shirt is guaranteed to the first 300 registrants. Post-run prizes, refreshments and music will be available. Refreshments will also be available for sale. To register early, visithttps://runsignup.com/Race/NJ/Clinton/VHSEF5K. Registration form is also available on the Voorhees High School website: VHSEF 2014 Zombie 5K-Registration Form Donations to the VHSEF are also gladly accepted.
The 2014 Zombie 5K is presented by the VHSEF and sponsored by the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers located in Clinton and Whitehouse Station, NJ.
The VHSEF is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to promoting education at Voorhees High School located in Hunterdon County, NJ. Their primary mission is to provide a source of funding for educational programs beyond the limitations of the school budget. Mr. Sickels said the VHSEF plans to hold the event annually. “Monies raised by the 5K will provide student scholarships, innovative arts and science programs, technology enhancements, capital improvements, and an endowment fund which will inspire and enrich the students of Voorhees High School now and for years to come!” For more information on the VHSEF go to vhsef.org.
