Senior, 6-0, 155 pounds 
 
JUST THE STATS: Mugavero pulled away from 2012 Union County champion Matt Luppino of Westfield and Justin Naselli of Mendham, a two-time NJAC champion, over the final mile on his way to winning the Senior Division race in 16:18 at the 33rd NJCTC Bernie Magee Class Meet last Saturday on the 3.25-mile course at Warinanco Park in Elizabeth. Mugavero’s time was the fastest of the day and just off his all-time personal best for any course of 16:14.

Volleyball Player of the Week

Name: Christina Linne

School: North Hunterdon High School

Class: Senior

Position: Outside hitter

Statistics: Linne compiled 27 kills, 20 aces and 41 digs as the Lions put together five straight wins. Her best outing featured 8 kills, 6 aces and 8 digs in a two-set sweep of Southern Regional.

Honorable mention: Jr. OH Courtney Horace, Easton; Jr. OH Sara Robicheau, Notre Dame; Sr. MH Carly Skibinski, Delaware Valley; Sr. OH Brooke Priestas, Liberty; Sr. S Katy Middleton, North Hunterdon.

Eve GlasergreenRunners of the Week

Names: Dave Mugavero (boys); Eve Glasergreen (girls)

Schools: Both from North Hunterdon High School.

Classes: Mugavero is a senior; Glasergreen is a junior.

Statistics: Mugavero and Glasergreen both took first in their divisions at the Bernie Magee Class Meet on Saturday at Warinanco Park in Elizabeth, N.J. Mugavero covered the 3.25-mile course in 16 minutes, 18 seconds and Glasergreen finished in 19:09.

LionAthleteAppIt’s no top secret that student-athletes have hectic lives. A normal day starts with a glass of OJ, cereal and a bagel, then off to school and off to practice\game afterwards. After a couple hours of competing, it’s time to fit in homework, dinner, a little Glee, Degrassi or perhaps The Big bang Theory, studying for that math quiz and off to bed to do it all over again tomorrow. 

With this kind of everyday schedule, it’s easy to see how learning effective time management is a very valuable skill for student-athletes. The North Hunterdon Athletic Department put together a Lion Athlete App for your student athletes smart phone to aid them with their busy lives. If any student athlete has a good idea for any additions to the Lion Athlete App, please have them stop into the athletic office and it can be reviewed and perhaps used.

Caroline Jaeger named Honorable Mention as a US Lacrosse All-American!

CarolineJaegarAllAmericanCongratulations to Caroline Jaeger who was named Honorable Mention as a US Lacrosse All-American! Caroline is the very first North Hunterdon Girls Lacrosse player to be named an All American. Coach Ditze completed a very extensive application process for Caroline’s nomination – Thanks Stacy !

The list will be posted HERE on the US Lacrosse website once US lacrosse has received all Group 2 & 3 All-Academic, All-American and Jackie Pitts Award submissions.
