The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District has joined the Summer Food Service Program authorized by the National School Lunch Act, which provides free meals to any student. The free meals will begin after winter recess. Any student regardless of economic status or on hybrid or all virtual instruction schedule can receive free breakfast and lunch meals. No sign-up required to take the free meals (sign-up is required for delivery on virtual weeks, see below).
If your student is on hybrid instruction schedule, on the weeks students are in school for in-person instruction (starting January 4), students can pick-up a meal bag at 11:55am dismissal (bags will be handed out at North Hunterdon at the theater and main entrances and at Voorhees at main entrance). Monday-Thursday one meal bag will be given, but on Fridays three meal bags will be given to include the weekend.
On the weeks students are on virtual instruction for hybrid schedule, or if your student is on 100% virtual instruction, the district is offering delivery of meals to your residence (or closest stop the bus can make). One week’s worth of meals (breakfasts and lunches for 7 days) will be delivered on Mondays, exact time TBD by the transportation department. Meals will be frozen. You can also select to pick-up meals; pick-up window is 12:30-2:00pm on Mondays at the front Rt 31 entrance of North Hunterdon High School (there is no pick-up at Voorhees). Click here to sign-up for delivery or pick-up.
** Note: If the district is closed on a Monday, delivery and pick-up of meals will be the following school day the district is open.**
Again, this program is open to any student free of charge and no sign-up is required. Students can take meals whenever they would like.
Important note: Now that the district is enrolled in the Summer Food Service Program, the cafeteria will only be offering the free meals for the program and there will be no a la carte items to purchase.
