Voorhees record for a food drive – 2015: 5972.3 pounds
During Spirit Fest this year we collected: 5,370.9 pounds
We’re hoping to blow that record out of the water! Our perishable food drive begins on Monday and finishes on Monday, 11/22. This will be a competition between classes. Block 1 classes.
The class that brings in the most food will win a covid-friendly feast. All food donated must be well-labeled with teacher name and block number. Food should be brought to the Cove — frozen and cold items will be relocated throughout the day to ensure nothing defrosts or goes bad. Tallies will be made each day – and announced and recorded on the Key Club bulletin board.
For the sake of counting points:
Non-perishables – 1 pt per pound
Perishables 2 pts per pound
Perishables:
Frozen turkey
carrots
onions
potatoes
sweet potatoes
apples/oranges
