Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? This cause was started by the Mental Health America organization and has been observed in the United States since 1949. The purpose of Mental Health Awareness Month is to raise awareness and educate the public about mental illnesses, the realities of living with these conditions and strategies for attaining mental health and wellness. Additionally, Mental Health Awareness Month strives to draw attention to suicide as well as reduce the stigma that surrounds mental illnesses. Throughout the month of May, our Student Assistance Counselor Ms. Lanzilotta along with the Counseling department will be running a number of self-care workshops! These workshops are for students AND staff and will be available throughout the entire school day so stop by when you have free time! You can find calendars for these workshops all around the school and you should have received one in your email.
Tomorrow there will be THERAPY DOGS in room 135 starting at 8am through the end of L2! Feel free to stop by during any free period!
