1) Today is “School Picture Retake Day”. This is the final opportunity for your photo, including Senior Portraits, to be included in the yearbook.
2) All students trying out for the varsity dance team – Aspen is now open to register for the season. Parents and students can find sign-up information under “sports forms” by selecting “NORTH BASKETBALL DANCE”. Tryouts begin today. Questions, see Coach Harty or Coach Kiehl.
3) Hey North, get your GREEN on! Join the Environmental Club for a Campus Cleanup today! Sign up in Aspen, join Google Classroom, and meet in Room 201 after school to fuel up and get supplies before heading out! See Ms. Bentzinger with any questions!
4) If you are interested in joining the boys or girls North Swim Team there will be an interest meeting after school today in rm 217.
5) Unified Club is this Thursday at 2:30 in Room 121! See you there!
6) Student Council will meet this Thursday during L1, L2, and after school in Room 156. You only need to attend one of these times! New members are always welcome!
7) There will be an ESL Buddies Club Meeting on Thursday, October 15th after school in Room 223. We will be discussing our upcoming bake sale and other activities. All are welcome. Spread the word. Be sure to sign up in Aspen as a member.
8) There will be a brief girls’ basketball meeting on Thursday, October 15th, immediately after school in room 130. If you’re interested in playing, please attend if you cannot make it, contact Coach Matisak, Coach Furman, or Coach Thorsen.
9) There will be a sign up meeting for all girls planning to compete in winter Track and Field after school on Thursday, October 15 in room 135a.
10) As a reminder, freshman election packets are due this Friday!
11) It’s time to get spooky! Northern Lights is hosting a two-line scary story competition—the winning entry wins a $25 gift card to Read Mill Books bookstore in Clinton and our favorite stories will be featured on our website. Email submissions to northernlights@nhvweb.net by October 16th.
12) The North Hunterdon girls fencing team will be holding an information meeting on Thursday, October 22nd. Anyone interested in trying a new sport is encouraged to attend. No experience is necessary to join the team. 75% of the girls fencing team started fencing in high school, and the team has advanced to the sweet 16 for the last 4 years. The meeting will be held in the green gym immediately after school. Please email Coach Millhiser or Coach Semanchik if you have any questions.
13) Attention Juniors and Seniors: A representative from Princeton University will be visiting on Friday, October 23rd, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Since this visit falls during lunch, you are welcome to bring your lunch with you. The location will be announced soon. Please see Ms. Fisher in the Counseling Department to sign up!
