What does it take to be successful in this class?
C.O.R.E.
Communication
• Raise your hand for questions, ask permission for a pass to the restroom, etc.
• Be polite: say please and thank you
• Use classroom appropriate language
• Listen to your peers, teacher, support staff, etc.
Organization
• On time for class (in assigned seat, working on the warm-up when the bell rings)
• Prepared for class
*Homework assignments: Homework assigned will be due at the start of class the following day. Have the homework on your desk and ready to be checked at the start of class.
*Notebook: Three ring binder (any size). You will receive handouts that will be organized in your notebook. Notebooks are collected periodically so the notebook must be used only for this class. Spiral bound notebooks are not recommended for this class.
*Pencils and erasers: No pens – The use of pen on a test or quiz will result in loss of credit.
*Calculator TI 83 or 84 – Cellphones and ipods will NOT be used for classwork or tests/quizzes.

What to bring everyday: Notebook, pencils, calculator, book (covered), homework and a positive attitude.

• SLANT – (Sit up, Listen, Ask questions, Nod your head, Track)

• Ask for help
• Check answers with the back of the book (when available) – try it again if your solution is different
• Take notes every day and review your notes everyday

Missed classes and work: It is YOUR responsibility to see me when you are absent to make up any class work or homework. Please try to make up the work as soon as possible, within the week is strongly preferred. Assignments that are not made up in a timely manner will receive a zero.

I will be available for afterschool help in room 151 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
