Posted: June 3, 2017 | Entry Type: Post

Egg Harbor came into the state final undefeated for the second consecutive year and walked away with its first title Saturday, rallying past No. 8 North Hunterdon, 2-1, in the Group 4 final..

North Stars of the Game:

• Meghan Graham: She had a single, a double and a triple, finishing just a home run shy of the cycle for North Hunterdon. She also scored the Lions’ lone run of the game in the bottom of the first.

• Maggie Swan: North Hunterdon‘s pitcher was strong throughout the game, the two runs she allowed in the sixth inning the only blemish on her line. Swan struck out four Egg Harbor batters in the championship game to end her season with 240 strikeouts, the most ever for a North Hunterdon pitcher. The old record was 237 set by Mason Spichiger in 2014.
