North Hunterdon Girls Cross Country wins Clash of Titans and wins Skyland Championship
North Hunterdon, led by sisters Anna DiMarcello (second in 18:53) and freshman Ellie DiMarcello (seventh in 19:17), received a remarkable finish from freshman Angela Kearsley, who passed several runners over the final 100 meters to place 8th in 19:19. Kearsley’s finish was one of big keys to victory for North Hunterdon, which captured the title for the first time since 2002.
The Lions, who averaged 19:28.4, also picked up strong performance from junior Erin Kelley, 16th in 19:50, and freshman Brenna Talamo, 19th in 20:04.

North Rocks at the 2015 HWS County Cross Country Championship

Congratulations to the Lady Lions Cross Country team for taking home Gold at the 2015 HWS County Cross Country Championship. North Hunterdon’s top 5 runners are underclassmen. Leading the way were the DiMarcello sisters. Junior Anna DiMarcello was 2nd in 19:22, and freshman Ellie DiMarcello was 6th in 19:41. The next three scorers for the Lions were freshman Angela Kearsley, 9th in 19:57, freshman Brenna Talamo, 10th in 20:10, and junior Erin Kelley, 13th in 20:27.
The JV team took first place with Amber Caulfield leading the way followed by Kelly McCarten, Dana Fuentes and Sarah Conti.
The Freshmen team took first place with Devon Williams leading the way followed by Chloe Morris, and Gabbie Beneducci.

Robert Marron of North Hunterdon is the Hunterdon County Democrat Athlete of the Week for Oct 12
Congratulations to Rob Marron who was named the HC Democrat Athlete of the week for October 12th.
JUST THE STATS: In North Hunterdon’s 31-13 win over Plainfield on Friday night, Marron carried 34 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns. Marron is having a very impressive senior season on the ground. He has amassed 644 yards on 121 carries, with seven rushing touchdowns in five games. He also has a punt return for a touchdown as he has led the Lions to a 3-2 record thus far.

Lions handle the Cardinals in 31-13 victory
Robert Marron rushed 34 times for 127 yards with two touchdowns to lead North Hunterdon over Plainfield, 31-13, in Annandale.
Both of Marron’s TDs came in the fourth quarter, on a 2-yard run and a 25-yard run. North Hunterdon got on the board in the first quarter when Matt Busher connected with Kayson Woolford for an 18-yard score. Plainfield also scored in the first quarter when Jason Cisson returned a punt 60 yards to the end zone. The score remained tied 7-7 until the third quarter.
Plainfield took a 13-10 lead into the fourth quarter after a 37-yard field goal by North Hunterdon’s Ryan Beadle and a 35-yard TD reception by Jamar Clark from Jayson Bryant for Plainfield. North Hunterdon responded in the fourth quarter with three rushing TDs, the two by Marron and a 9-yard TD from Luke Wain.
Kayson Woolford and Stewart Saharic led the defense for North Hunterdon. Woolford had two tackles and a forced fumble, which was recovered by Saharic. Chris Tywanick hauled in four catches for eighty-two yards.

Watchung Hills and North Hunterdon Jessie Shapiro scored the goal to lead Watchung Hills to a 1-1 tie in Warren. Jessie Shapiro scored the goal for Watchung Hills and goalie Lauren Trumpore recorded nine saves. Jenna Macri scored the goal for North Hunterdon and goalie Liz Rotolo had 16 saves.
