Be polite and thoughtful of one another. \u00a0Appropriate classroom behavior includes basic good manners, as well as courtesy and respect for other people and their ideas. \u00a0Your main student responsibility in this class is to demonstrate <\/span><b>respect<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for the teacher, for other students, and for yourself. To demonstrate this level of respect, you must:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend class regularly; alert the teacher to planned absences and contact teacher regarding missed work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Arrive to class on time by taking your seat and preparing materials 400\">Use your time wisely.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Actively participate in class discussions and group assignments\u2026 or at least be engaged in the process.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stay positive, pay attention, listen, and avoid being a disruption or distraction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work cooperatively with other students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use all school \u00a0For each day of class, students will receive 2 points for being on task and invested in the day\u2019s activity. \u00a0Students will receive 0 points for the following reason(s): \u00a0being on a cellphone, being on a chrome book for a non-class related reason, napping, working on other assignments. \u00a0A participation grade will be posted to Aspen weekly and a chart will be kept in class should a student need clarification. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Cheating and Plagiarism<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Simple: Do not cheat or plagiarize. \u00a0Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated and will receive grades of 0%. \u00a0Do your own work, and give credit where due when using other people\u2019s ideas, words, photos, images, lyrics, etc. \u00a0Copying homework is plagiarism and will receive a 0%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Absences and Makeup Work<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Regular attendance in class is imperative to both your own understanding of class material and to the dynamic of the classroom environment, as all students are expected to be active contributors to class. \u00a0Therefore, make every effort to attend class consistently. \u00a0You will have one week to make up missed work including in-class work, quizzes, and tests. \u00a0<\/span><b>Homework should be submitted on the day of your return to school.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> It is <\/span><b>your responsibility<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to speak with me regarding missed work, to collect your missed materials, and to copy notes from another responsible student. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Tardiness<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Regular tardiness disrupts the beginning of class routine and is a distraction to both the teacher and students. \u00a0Therefore, it is your responsibility to be <\/span><b>in your seat with the required materials<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on your desk when the bell rings. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Late Work<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Late work, including homework, essays, and other graded assignments will be evaluated on a situational basis by the instructor.
