* All current events are due <\/span>every other __Thursday___ starting _Thursday, February 2, 2016__. \u00a0<\/b>A current event is considered \u201con-time\u201d if a hard copy is turned in prior to 3:10 or an email is sent \/ current event is shared prior to 12:00 am on the day selected. \u00a0Should you not meet this requirement; your current event will not be accepted. Should you be absent on the due date, the above will pertain to the day you return.*<\/span><\/p>\n

Correct procedures for current events:<\/b><\/p>\n

1. \u00a0ALL CURRENT EVENTS MUST BE TYPED<\/b>. \u00a0Failing to do so will cost you 15 points. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. \u00a0FOLLOW THE FORMAT<\/b>. <\/b>\u00a0As shown on the next page. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. \u00a0ATTACH THE ARTICLE.<\/b> \u00a0Failing to do so will cost you 15 points. If you use a newspaper, cut out the news article neatly (scissors needed) to fit the size of a normal sheet of paper. Find a way to make it fit because I don\u2019t want to deal with sloppy articles. \u00a0Finding articles online may be even easier. Try looking on <\/span>cnn.com<\/span>, yahoo news, <\/span>msnbc.com<\/span> and other news sites. \u00a0If you send the assignment electronically, include the link to the article in the email itself or in the document.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4. \u00a0Should you chose to email these, save your work as a word document and attach it to the email. Copy the URL address of the article and paste it into the body of the email.<\/p>\n

5. \u00a0Keep it to a page \u2013 single space.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0The source of your article must be up to one week current. \u00a0Don\u2019t use editorials or an extremely short synopsis.<\/p>\n

7. \u00a0Be creative, be thorough. \u00a0Proofread and watch your language.<\/p>\n

8. \u00a0You can miss <\/span>1<\/span> current event per marking period without penalty. \u00a0After that, you know how much it will cost you.<\/span><\/p>\n

9. \u00a0If you hand in ALL of them, I\u2019ll give you a free <\/span>25<\/span> points of extra credit.<\/span><\/p>\n

10. \u00a0Remember this is a class dealing with the CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM<\/i> so your current events should deal with this topic.<\/p>\n

11. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>My advice to you would be to find a trial or case you may be able to follow throughout the semester. This may not always be applicable.<\/p>\n

12. \u00a0<\/span>If you aren\u2019t willing to or will not complete current events, you\u2019re going to do poorly in this class.<\/p>\n
