Grading Policy <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Marking Period grades are determined in the following manner:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
        \n
      1. Current events are worth <\/span>50 points <\/b>\u00a0(<\/span>Due every other __Thursday_____ starting __February 2, 2016_________<\/b>)<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Quizzes are worth <\/span>100 points <\/b>(or close to)<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Other homework, attendance, and class participation will be taken into consideration. \u00a0Point values will vary by assignment. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n

         <\/p>\n

        ** Grades will be determined by the use of an accumulative point system, which will be converted into a percentage and letter grade. **<\/span><\/p>\n

         <\/p>\n

        1. All quizzes & tests <\/span>WILL <\/span>be made up within one week; otherwise the grade becomes a zero. \u00a0\u00a0It is your responsibility for making arrangements with me to make up the test or quiz. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

           <\/p>\n

          1. Any assignments are due on or before the announced date. \u00a0Late assignments will lose 10% per day that they are late. This does not pertain to current events. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

             <\/p>\n

            1. Students are expected to take notes on lectures, videos, seminars, possible guest speakers, and any other special events. \u00a0Quizzes may contain information from anything in class. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              1. Attendance is important. \u00a0You\u2019re big boys and girls so if you\u2019re out, it\u2019s your responsibility to find out what you missed, make it up and hand it in. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                1. Each student will receive credit for participation. \u00a0For each day of class, students will receive 2 points for being on task and invested in the day\u2019s activity. \u00a0Students will receive 0 points for any of the following reason(s): \u00a0being on a cellphone, being on a chrome book for a non-class related reason, napping, working on other assignments, etc. \u00a0\u00a0A participation grade will be posted to Aspen weekly and a chart will be kept in class should a student need clarification. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
