to compete.\u00a0 Our &#013;<br \/>\nteam consists of 4 students.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p class=\"style8\">Please see Mrs Hance if you are interested.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p class=\"style8\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p class=\"style11\"><strong>About Science League<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p class=\"style8\">The Science League Test is administered during the second &#013;<br \/>\nThursday of January, February, March, and April.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span class=\"style8\">The purpose of the Science League is &#013;<br \/>\nto provide competitions between schools in selected science areas of study.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">All competitions are on two levels.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">One level is for the students.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">Students within any one testing area are ranked with &#013;<br \/>\neach other based upon their scores on 3 of the 4 exams given.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">Any student completing 3 of the 4 exams receives a &#013;<br \/>\ncertificate from the Science League.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">The top ten percent (10%) of the students receiving &#013;<br \/>\na certificate also receive a student plaque.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">Last year the League awarded approximately 240 &#013;<br \/>\nstudent plaques.<\/span><span class=\"style8\"> <\/span>&#013;<br \/>\n<span class=\"style8\">The plaques are presented to the students in conjunction &#013;<br \/>\nwith your school\u0092s awards program.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span class=\"style8\">The next level of competition is with &#013;<br \/>\nteams.<\/span><span class=\"style8\"> <\/span>&#013;<br \/>\n<span class=\"style8\">The students make up teams from the various schools.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">Each school only needs two members for each team, &#013;<br \/>\nbut as many as four may compete for each subject area.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">Schools may sign up for one to nine teams.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">Team scores which is sum of top 2 student scores are &#013;<br \/>\ncumulative from January through April.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">Competition within each testing area is extremely &#013;<br \/>\nkeen.<\/span><span class=\"style8\"> <\/span>&#013;<br \/>\n<span class=\"style8\">By the end of the season there can be as little as one &#013;<br \/>\nquestion separating first place from second place.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">\u00a0&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">The final team score for the season will be the sum &#013;<br \/>\nof all four exams.<\/span><span class=\"style8\"> <\/span>&#013;<br \/>\n<span class=\"style8\">Schools are ranked from #1 down to the last school.<\/span><span class=\"style8\">&#013;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"style8\">The top
