\n\t\t\tSelection for membership in the National
\n\t\t\tHonor Society is made by a faculty council and is based on
\n\t\t\toutstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character.<\/p>\n

A student who has outstanding scholarship:<\/b>

\n\t\t\tMust maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher<\/p>\n

A student who exercises leadership:<\/b><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Needs to provide documentation
\n\t\t\tfor 50 hours of leadership positions\/roles<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDemonstrates leadership in promoting school activities

\n\t\t\tExercises influence on peers in encouraging school spirit

\n\t\t\tIs resourceful in contributing ideas that improve school life

\n\t\t\tIs able to delegate responsibilities

\n\t\t\tExemplifies positive attitudes

\n\t\t\tInspires positive behavior in others

\n\t\t\tDemonstrates academic initiative in classroom activities

\n\t\t\tSuccessfully holds position of responsibility, conducts business
\n\t\t\tefficiently and effectively, and is reliable and dependable without

\n\t\t\tDemonstrates leadership in the classroom, at work, and in school
\n\t\t\tactivities

\n\t\t\tMaintains a loyal school attitude

\n\t\t\tParticipates in some outside activities: scouts, 4 – H, church
\n\t\t\tgroups, volunteers service for the aged, disabled, poor,
\n\t\t\tdisadvantaged, etc…

\n\t\t\tIs dependable and well – organized

\n\t\t\tWorks well with others and is willing to take on difficult or less
\n\t\t\tvisible responsibilities

\n\t\t\tCheerfully and enthusiastically renders service to the school

\n\t\t\tIs willing to represent the class or school in inter – class and
\n\t\t\tinter – scholastic competitions

\n\t\t\tCompletes committee and staff work without complaining

\n\t\t\tShows courtesy by assisting students, visitors, teachers,
\n\t\t\tsubstitutes, and other school personnel<\/p>\n

A student of character:<\/b>

\n\t\t\tTakes criticism willingly and will seriously consider
\n\t\t\trecommendations

\n\t\t\tExemplifies desirable qualities of personality, including
\n\t\t\tcheerfulness, friendliness, poise, and stability

\n\t\t\tUpholds principles of morality and ethics

\n\t\t\tCooperates by complying with school regulations concerning school
\n\t\t\tproperty, facilities, and activities

\n\t\t\tDemonstrates the highest standards of honesty and reliability

\n\t\t\tShows courtesy, concern, and respect for others
