The Voorhees High School Drama Club is studying the history of France in a unique way with a production of Les Mis\u00e9rables School Edition<\/em>, an adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon which is performed by students only.\u00a0 Performances are on\u00a0April 11, 12, 13 at 7pm and April 14th<\/sup> at 2pm at the Voorhees High School Auditorium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Advance tickets may be purchased\/reserved by contacting Mr. Joe Reynolds jreynolds@nhvweb.net<\/a>.\u00a0 Adult tickets cost $14 and students and senior citizens cost $12.\u00a0 All tickets purchased at the door cost $15. For more information, please contact Mr. Reynolds.<\/p>\n

This epic story of Les Mis\u00e9rables recounts the struggle against adversity in 19th century France. Imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread, petty thief Jean Valjean is released from his 19-year term and not only becomes and honest man, but the mayor of a prosperous town and a loving adoptive father \u2013 violating his parole in the process. The relentless Inspector Javert, who makes a decent life for Valjean impossible, consequently pursues him. Only years later, after Valjean proves his mettle during a bloody student uprising and saves the life of a young man hopelessly in love with Valjean\u2019s adopted daughter, does the ex-convict finally feel fully redeemed.<\/p>\n

The Les Miserables School Edition is specially adapted and licensed by Music Theatre International and Cameron Mackintosh (Overseas) Ltd.<\/p>\n
