These presentations are free and open to anyone who&#8217;d like to attend. See details below. Both presentations will be held in Voorhees High School Cafeteria. Additional presentations will be scheduled for the Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, October 17, 2018\u20147:00-8:30pm &#8211; Voorhees Cafeteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\"><strong>Raising Resilient Teens in Challenging Times<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Presented by Phyllis Alongi, MS, NCC, LPC, ACS, Clinical Director of the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This presentation focuses on building strength and resilience in children and teens with emphasis on the following: how to talk to your teens about difficult topics, empowering parents\/guardians through education and awareness, understanding warning signs and risk factors particularly for teen suicide, and cultivating an independent and resilient mindset in your child.\u00a0 Ms. Alongi will also provide data and statistics on teen suicide as well as share local resources that are available if you or your child need assistance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Alongi is a licensed professional counselor and has numerous years of experience in education and clinical practice with children and adolescents. She conducts suicide prevention and risk assessment training to schools, agencies and community organizations across the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This presentation is free of charge, courtesy of The Provident Bank Foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>_____________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thursday, December 6, 2018\u20147:00-8:30pm &#8211; Voorhees Cafeteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\"><strong>Current Trends: Underage Drinking and Its Effects on the Brain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Presented by Jean Ciullo, Director of Prevention Programs for Prevention Resources, Inc.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Underage drinking continues to be an alarming problem in the United States.
