Dear Members of the Class of 2018 and Parents:<\/p>\n
As June 12th<\/sup> approaches, the faculty and administration are looking forward to the graduation ceremony and all other activities leading up to this important event.\u00a0 This is a time of celebration and excitement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We extend an invitation to all students and parents to attend our Senior Awards Night, scheduled for 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 24 in the auditorium.\u00a0 Families of those receiving awards will be contacted by mail roughly ten days before the ceremony.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Commencement will be held on Tuesday, June 12, at 10:00 am<\/strong>. rain or shine.\u00a0 If weather permits, the ceremony will be held on the Football field.\u00a0 All are welcome.\u00a0 It is possible that the ceremony could be delayed briefly if the weather forecast calls for a passing shower. In the event of significant rain, the ceremony will be held in the gymnasium and admission will be by TICKET ONLY<\/strong>.\u00a0 Each senior will be issued 3 tickets.\u00a0 No one will be admitted in the gym without a ticket.\u00a0 A YouTube broadcast of the ceremony will be shown in the Auditorium and classrooms on the 2nd<\/sup> floor if necessary; this broadcast will also be available online.\u00a0 <\/strong>Students will receive their tickets during graduation practice.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Board of Education has charged each Principal with developing a procedure that will ensure a dignified graduation ceremony.\u00a0 Any student participating in inappropriate behavior will immediately be escorted from the graduation area and will not receive his\/her diploma after graduation.\u00a0 The diploma will be held for a minimum of 30 days.\u00a0 After that time, a conference with the student and parent will be required with the Administration before the diploma is conferred.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The only students eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony are those who have successfully completed all the requirements for graduation.\u00a0 If there is any question concerning your child\u2019s status for graduation, please contact his\/her guidance counselor immediately.\u00a0 All students are expected to attend graduation rehearsals.\u00a0 Working students MUST<\/strong> make arrangements with their employers so they are able to attend the rehearsals; they will be held from 1:00 \u2013 3:00 P.M. on June 6th<\/sup>, 7th<\/sup> and 8th<\/sup>. Any student who does not show up for graduation practice or exhibits poor behavior during a practice will jeopardize his\/her privilege to take part in the ceremony.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Voorhees P.T.S.O. will once again sponsor Project Graduation after the ceremony (the evening of the 12th<\/sup>).\u00a0 Project Graduation is an alcohol\/drug free party that will be held at the FunPlex in East Hanover, NJ.\u00a0 Bus transportation will be provided to and from the facility. Departure time from the high school will be 8:00 P.M.\u00a0 Admission will be granted to bused students only.\u00a0 Students will return to Voorhees High School around 2:00 A.M.\u00a0 Further information will be sent out by the end of May.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We ask your cooperation in adhering to procedure and schedules.\u00a0 It is our desire that the activities leading up to and including graduation be positive and memorable for all concerned.
