{"id":2506,"date":"2014-10-08T11:15:31","date_gmt":"2014-10-08T15:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/vhs\/home\/?p=2506"},"modified":"2014-10-08T11:15:31","modified_gmt":"2014-10-08T15:15:31","slug":"message-from-principal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/vhs\/home\/message-from-principal\/","title":{"rendered":"Message From Principal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Voorhees Parents\/Guardians,<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Over the last year, there has been a surge nationwide in the use of vaporizers and e-cigarettes by teenagers.\u00a0 There are many health concerns and risks associated with this new trend.\u00a0 These products can be used to ingest tobacco, marijuana (THC) and other chemicals and will be treated as drug paraphernalia if a student is caught with these devices on school property.\u00a0 This message is to inform you of the school policies related to the use or possession of vaporizers and e-cigarettes in school.\u00a0<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As an educational institution, we do not allow the use or possession of any drugs, including tobacco, on school property or at school events.\u00a0 With this being said, we wanted to make you aware of our school\u2019s procedure on handling these situations based on North Hunterdon-Voorhees Board of Education policies and regulations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is prohibited at any time in school buildings or on school grounds per <a href=\"http:\/\/policy.microscribepub.com\/cgi-bin\/om_isapi.dll?clientID=323467419&amp;depth=2&amp;infobase=north_hunterdon_voorhees.nfo&amp;record={23D0}&amp;softpage=PL_frame\">Policy 5533<\/a> and will be subject to disciplinary action.
