All medications must be administered to the student by the school nurse, with the exception of insulin, asthma inhalers and epinephrine for severe allergic reactions. These are the only medications which may be carried by a student.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> over-the-counter (OTC) medication<\/strong> administration permission\u00a0form in Aspen allows the school nurse to dispense stock\u00a0over-the-counter medications to your student, such as Tylenol, Advil,\u00a0cough medicine, Benadryl and\u00a0antacids which have been pre-approved by our school physician.<\/p>\n<p><b>If your child requires prescription or over-the-counter medication administration while at school:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All medications must be in its original prescription or OTC bottle &#8211; NO exceptions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All medication will be stored in the nurse\u2019s office and administered by the nurse as prescribed by your physician.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/vhs\/healthoffice\/files\/2024\/05\/Authorization-for-Medication-Form.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">medication administration form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> must be completed and turned in to the nurse.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your child carries\u00a0<strong>insulin, an\u00a0inhaler or epinephrine<\/strong> injection, please have your doctor\u00a0complete the appropriate forms available for download on the right.<\/p>\n<p>If you child is attending an <strong>over night field trip<\/strong> and will require medication (prescription or over the counter), please download a form for each medication to be administered and complete it before the date of departure.
