An overall picture of what challenges we were going to face in terms of infrastructure and adoption started to take place.<\/p>\n<p>The 2012-2013 school year was our initial pilot year. We decided to conduct a small scale exploratory 1:1 pilot that would give first hand information on the implementation of a 1:1 program. During this exploratory pilot, we tested several devices and different approaches to instruction and class management in a 1:1 environment. This small pilot helped us to identify first hand the benefits of a 1:1 program as well as find out obstacles that we needed to resolve if we were to move forward.<\/p>\n<p>The 2013-2014 year marked a major step in our process to become a 1:1 school. In 2013-2014, we \u00a0expanded the pilot we conducted in 2012-2013 into a controlled roll-out\/pilot expansion that allowed us to gather additional feedback across curriculum and identify obstacles that could come with a large scale deployment and therefore were not identified during the initial pilot in 2012-2013.<\/p>\n<p>During 2014-2015 we expanded the program to three of the four high school grades.
