Are you interested in joining the French Honor Society? \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please see the information below to see if you are eligible to apply. \u00a0If you believe you are eligible after reading the information below, please click on the links for the application form. \u00a0Please fill out the application and bring it to Mme Decker along with a copy of your transcripts and\/or report cards which show you have maintained an A average in French for two consecutive years. \u00a0You will also need a check for $10.00 made out to NHAA for this year’s dues. \u00a0All applications, transcripts and dues must be turned in by Friday, September 27, 2024. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also, please know that in order to be inducted into the French Honor Society, you MUST attend the induction ceremony<\/strong> to recite the oath. \u00a0You will NOT be a member unless you attend. \u00a0The induction ceremonydate will\u00a0 be\u00a0 announced\u00a0 soon.<\/p>\n

French Honor Society Eligibility Requirements:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As a member of the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Honoraire de Fran\u00e7ais,\u00a0the student\u00a0agrees to maintain all of the requirements of eligibility.\u00a0\u00a0He\/She should\u00a0understand that to become a member: <\/em><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He\/She<\/em> must be, at least, in the 10th<\/sup> grade, have completed French 2.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0He\/She<\/em> must have maintained an \u201cA\u201d average in French for 2 consecutive years<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

3. He\/She must attend the induction ceremony<\/strong> <\/span>for the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Honoraire de Fran\u00e7ais<\/i> or\u00a0he\/she will not be offered membership.<\/p>\n

Additionally, as a member of the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Honoraire de Fran\u00e7ais<\/i> at North Hunterdon High School,\u00a0he\/she agrees that\u00a0he\/she must participate in the following ways:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. He\/She must attend at least 50% of the meetings regularly held each month.<\/li>\n
  2. He\/She must pay his\/her yearly dues.<\/li>\n
  3. He\/She\u00a0must participate in at least one <\/span>\u00a0fundraising event each year.<\/li>\n
  4. He\/She must participate in at least one<\/span> community service project each year.<\/li>\n
  5. He\/She\u00a0must complete 3 hours<\/span> of after school tutoring to assist peer with their study of French each year.<\/li>\n
  6. He\/She must attend the French Honor Society Induction Ceremony.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Finally,\u00a0he\/she must\u00a0understand that the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Honoraire de Fran\u00e7ais<\/i> advisor may exercise the prerogative to revoke a student\u2019s membership for reasons of failure to maintain a high scholastic average, of behavior inappropriate to an honor society, irregular participation in SHF<\/i> activities, insufficient service hours, failure to attend the initiation ceremony, etc.\u00a0 (Students may only wear the official Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Honoraire de Fran\u00e7ais<\/i> cords at graduation if they are considered an active member.)<\/p>\n

    Meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Meetings will be either the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of the month.\u00a0 All meeting dates and times will be announced in the French Honor Society google classroom page.\u00a0 See Mme Decker for details.\u00a0 Some meetings may be before school and some after school.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
