Be polite and thoughtful of one another.\u00a0 Appropriate classroom behavior includes basic good manners, as well as courtesy and respect for other people and their ideas.\u00a0 Your main student responsibility in this class is to demonstrate <strong>respect<\/strong> for the teacher, for other students, and for yourself. To demonstrate this level of respect, you must:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Attend class regularly; alert the teacher to planned absences and contact teacher regarding missed work.<\/li>\n<li>Arrive to class on time by taking your seat and preparing materials before the bell.<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared for class with needed materials, homework, and all graded assignments.<\/li>\n<li>Meet all deadlines (assignments are due at the beginning of class).<\/li>\n<li>Use your time wisely.<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate in class discussions and group assignments.<\/li>\n<li>Stay positive, pay attention, listen, and avoid being a disruption or distraction.<\/li>\n<li>Work cooperatively with other students.<\/li>\n<li>Use all school materials and technology carefully and appropriately.<\/li>\n<li>Use computers only to access tools or view sites as directed by the teacher; other use results in immediate loss of computer privileges for the day and a reduction of participation grade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If behavior problems arise, expect to speak with me privately.\u00a0 If the problem is not resolved, expect other parties, including other teachers, administration, and parents, to become involved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cheating and Plagiarism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Simple: Do not cheat or plagiarize.\u00a0 Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated and will receive grades of 0%.\u00a0 Do your own work, and give credit where due when using other people\u2019s ideas, words, photos, images, lyrics, etc.\u00a0 Copying homework is plagiarism and will receive a 0%<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Absences and Makeup Work<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regular attendance in class is imperative to both your own understanding of class material and to the dynamic of the classroom environment, as all students are expected to be active contributors to class.\u00a0 Therefore, make every effort to attend class consistently.\u00a0 You will have one week to make up missed work including in-class work, quizzes, and tests.\u00a0 <strong>Homework should be submitted on the day of your return to school.<\/strong> It is <strong>your responsibility<\/strong> to speak with me regarding missed work, to collect your missed materials, and to copy notes from another responsible student.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tardiness<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regular tardiness disrupts the beginning of class routine and is a distraction to both the teacher and students.\u00a0 Therefore, it is your responsibility to be <strong>in your seat with the required materials<\/strong> on your desk when the bell rings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Late Work<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Late work, including homework, essays, and other graded assignments, is not acceptable.\u00a0 Late homework will receive a 0%.\u00a0 Major assignments will be accepted with a loss of 10% deduction per day late.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Extra Help<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am always willing to meet with you after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (late bus days), if you arrange an appointment with me.\u00a0 Teachers appreciate students who take extra interest in their work and seek out extra instruction and guidance.\u00a0 Asking questions is a strength \u2013 never a weakness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bring the following materials to class each day:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>3-ring binder (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Pen and pencil<\/li>\n<li>Highlighter<\/li>\n<li>Jump drive (USB storage device)<\/li>\n<li>User name and password<\/li>\n<li>Current materials and assignments<\/li>\n<li>Brain power and positive attitude<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Notebook Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will be keeping an electronic notebook.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Each notebook must have the 7 sections, labeled according to the outline below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Unit 1 \u2013 Introduction- NHHS Network, Game of Life &amp;
