This is a\u00a0global movement with more than 100 million learners in 180 countries. Everyone can code! \u00a0Take an hour to join in for the Hour of Code 2017. Get involved and have some fun!<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Visit\u00a0<a style=\"line-height: 24px\" title=\"code.org\/learn coding site\" href=\"http:\/\/code.org\/learn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Code.Org<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a style=\"font-size: 14px\" title=\"Try These Activities\" href=\"http:\/\/hourofcode.com\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/hourofcode.com\/us<\/a>\u00a0(click the link for &#8220;Students &#8211; Try It&#8221;) to learn how to program a game using Blockly (drag and drop steps), learn the basics of JavaScript and Python programming languages, or make an app to share. \u00a0You can do this through fun activities building a galaxy in Star Wars, create a MineCraft adventure, or try coding with Anna and Elsa from Frozen! When you finish any of these events, you will receive a certificate to your school email. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Play a game at our <a title=\"Student Games\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/nhhs\/math\/student-created-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gaming Corner<\/a> &#8211; Your fellow classmates of the Intro to Programming and Computer Science Basics through Gaming class have built a variety of games. \u00a0You can play any of these games during your free time using your school ChromeBook. \u00a0The games are BugSmash (a candy crush like game), Asteroid Destroyer, Flip the Robot Monkey (a platform based game), Bovine Battle (a game similar to Bomberman), and Silly Salmon, a game of skill navigating your salmon character through the obstacles in the river. \u00a0Silly Salmon is also a touch based game and can be play on your mobile device. \u00a0Use your finger to swipe up, down, left and right. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">View some short clips (<a title=\"Videos\" href=\"http:\/\/csedweek.org\/promote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/csedweek.org\/promote<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; scroll down the page) from people like Bill Gates, Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat, President Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others on how they got started with coding.\u00a0 .<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Try the <a title=\"Yeti - YAY!\" href=\"https:\/\/www.madewithcode.com\/project\/animation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yeti Animation<\/a> &#8211; Add code tiles to animate the Yeti to make him dance, wave, and spin his head.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Try out <a title=\"Code the Holidays\" href=\"https:\/\/www.madewithcode.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">madewithcode.com <\/a>to design a ZAC Zac Posen dress that turns heads and lights up the runwaystyle a dress using led lights! \u00a0Also check out the cool video to see lots of ways you can get involved!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Going <a title=\"Try These Activities!\" href=\"http:\/\/code.org\/learn\/beyond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beyond One Hour of Code<\/a> &#8211; Try some of these <a title=\"More Fun!\" href=\"http:\/\/code.org\/learn\/beyond\">activities<\/a> to have more fun!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><a title=\"Google Code-in\" href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/open-source\/gci\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Code-In 2015<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Get involved in a Code-In. Pre-university students ages 13 to 17 are invited to take part in Google Code-in, a\u00a0contest introducing young minds to the world of open source. With a wide variety of bite-sized tasks, it\u2019s easy for beginners to jump in and get started no matter what skills you have.
