America\u2019s roads are becoming more and more dangerous, especially for new drivers. \u00a0New Jersey driver education teachers are taking big steps to help change things for the better on November 10th<\/span>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Organized by Amy Ellis, Lauren Handel and Marielle Thorsen, North Hunterdon High School will host maverick traffic safety expert and professional race driver <\/span>Andy Pilgrim<\/span><\/a> from 6:30 – 8pm in the Theatre to speak to school students and parents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pilgrim was born in the UK and came to the US in the early 1980\u2019s as a computer programmer. \u00a0He became a US citizen in 1998. Pilgrim has been a professional race driver for 30 years and for 2015 continues as a Pro driver for GM Racing\u2019s Team Cadillac. \u00a0He has won 5 Championships and 64 races so far in his Professional racing career.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has over 20 years of experience talking to students, parents, and educators about traffic safety and distracted driving. \u00a0In 2008, he started The Traffic Safety Education Foundation. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2014 he released a new educational DVD called <\/span>The Parent Driving Zone. \u00a0<\/i><\/b>Pilgrim is the leading force in bringing attention to the critical role parents play in their children\u2019s driving education. \u00a0Most parents never think about the fact that driver education starts the moment they turn the child safety seat around to face front. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pilgrim has also created a mobility curriculum for grade 4 thru 8 school students, which is currently being reviewed and tested in several states. \u00a0He is very much looking forward to talking to the parents and school students in New Jersey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pilgrim \u00a0will speak to parents and students at \u00a0North Hunterdon High School’s Theatre on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 6:30-8pm. \u00a0All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. \u00a0Admission is FREE.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
