SCHEDULING INFORMATION FOR 2024-2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the second week of January, the counseling staff at North Hunterdon High School\u00a0will meet with groups of students to discuss\u00a0scheduling\u00a0for next year.\u00a0 These meetings will include a review of students\u2019 graduation requirements, an overview of the available courses, and instructions for online course selections in ASPEN.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The directions for the course selection process are available on the Counseling Webpage &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1I9lJJNDZMCdvbngt_E6SS009Ip70k8V9lldB_CKfX-c\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"nofollow\" >Click Here<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The process includes online teacher recommendations.\u00a0 Teachers will have the opportunity to enter teacher recommendations for their current students in their ASPEN gradebook from December 19 through January 8.\u00a0 Once that process is complete, the students will be able to see those recommendations in their request window.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Students must enter their course selections from January 12-22.\u00a0 The system will close at the end of the day on January 22 and all further changes will have to be completed by the student&#8217;s counselor<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please review the directions above and contact the counseling office if you have any questions.\u00a0 The final step in these directions asks students to print a list of requested courses to be signed by both parent\/guardian and student to be emailed to the counselor by January 23.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students must choose their courses very carefully for next year.\u00a0 Please refer to the\u00a0<strong>2024-2025 Course Selection Guide<\/strong>\u00a0as you make your selections &#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1IGGpf6Ys7Ik1lNTy3hgY9B2f7WN455jBxTe12j0KJJ0\/edit?usp=sharing\" permitted to make\u00a0schedule\u00a0changes in the fall unless it meets one of the district-approved reasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><u>Class of 2027 parents<\/u>:\u00a0 Please be aware that 9th-grade\u00a0students met with their counselors during the first semester to complete the Counseling Gameplan.\u00a0 Students responded to various questions about their high school and post-high school plans and goals.\u00a0 Please talk with your student\u00a0about their plans and goals as you prepare to\u00a0schedule\u00a0courses for next year.\u00a0\u00a0Please reach out to your student\u2019s counselor if you have any questions.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the past few months, representatives from over sixty colleges and universities have participated in college rep visits to meet with small groups of students.\u00a0 Please encourage your students to consider taking advantage of these great opportunities when they are seniors.\u00a0 Students can find out more information about these programs through their Scoir account or by talking with their counselor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><u>Class of 2026 parents<\/u>:\u00a0 Students will be working with counselors during the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0semester to further explore their career interests in preparation for the spring Career Fair.\u00a0 If you are interested in representing your career at the Career Fair, please opportunity to meet with your student and their counselor to discuss post-high school plans. Counselors will be visiting junior classes to talk about the college process.\u00a0 Students and parents should refer to the College Planning Guide for specific information about the college process
