On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, the North Hunterdon High School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Gregory R. Boccuti, participated in the first annual getJazzed@berks Scholastic Jazz Festival, part of the world-renowned Boscov\u2019s Berks Jazz Fest, in Reading, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

The North Jazz Ensemble performed on the main stage of the Grand Ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel Reading and was immediately treated to a clinic by Dr. Daniel Cherry, professor of Trombone from West Chester University. Featuring over 30 local New Jersey and Pennsylvania high school jazz ensembles, the festival took place over two days. Throughout the day, students attended instrument-specific master classes and attended jam sessions. The day concluded with a guest artist performance by The United States Air Force Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble. Congratulations to junior pianist Charlie Lisa was recognized as an outstanding soloist for the festival!<\/p>\n
