Yet, every three seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">North Hunterdon High School is proud to announce that we are hosting a blood drive on May 25, 2022. Each year, our teachers, students, parents\/guardians, and community members have come forward to help others through blood donations. Their generosity was acknowledged again last year as North Hunterdon High School was among the list of leading corporate and educational blood donor groups by New Jersey Blood Services. In fact, North Hunterdon was listed as #1 among high schools in New Jersey. We hope our community\u2019s generosity will continue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The blood drive will be held in North Hunterdon High School\u2019s Main Gym on <\/b><b>Wednesday, May 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Due to Covid-19 and the guidelines that have been established, you will need to reserve a time slot for your donation.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Please click <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/donate.nybc.org\/donor\/schedules\/drive_schedule\/289623\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"nofollow\" ><b>HERE<\/b><\/a><b> for the sign-up link.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While students who are seventeen and eighteen years old may donate legally without parental permission, we ask that they speak with their parents\/guardians before donating and that they obtain written permission (see below). We also extend a special invitation to our students who will be sixteen years old by May 25.\u00a0 With parental permission, sixteen-year-olds can donate in the state of New Jersey. In addition to filling out the permission slip below, they must also fill out the New Jersey Blood Services Parental Consent Form attached.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reminders and new guidelines for donating:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All Donors should drink plenty of water and eat regular meals on donation day.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All donors must show some official form of identification, such as a picture ID or driver\u2019s license.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have a blood donor card, please bring it with you when you donate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All donors\u2019 temperatures will be taken prior to entering the blood drive<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">May NOT donate if you have had a positive diagnostic test or experienced symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">May NOT donate if you are on self-quarantine restrictions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We look forward to your help. If you are 16 years of age or older, you are eligible to donate blood. Please submit this permission form, signed by your parent\/guardian, when you come in to donate blood.
