{"id":5806,"date":"2014-11-20T13:57:33","date_gmt":"2014-11-20T17:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/nhhs\/home\/?page_id=5806"},"modified":"2014-11-20T13:57:33","modified_gmt":"2014-11-20T17:57:33","slug":"early-dismissal-procedure","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/nhhs\/home\/early-dismissal-procedure\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Dismissal Procedure"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 align=\"left\"><strong>Early Dismissal<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p align=\"left\">Early dismissals are discouraged.\u00a0 However, the school will honor medical\/dental appointments and extreme emergencies.\u00a0 To arrange for early dismissal, a parent must write a note to the Attendance Office specifying the date, time, and reason for the request.\u00a0 Students are responsible for bringing the note to the Attendance Office the morning of their early dismissal.\u00a0 The student will then be given a pass to come to the Attendance Office at the designated time of departure.\u00a0 There may be times when a parent must make an appointment with the doctor during the current school day, but please make sure the child is aware that a parent will be calling for an appointment.\u00a0 It is the student\u2019s responsibility to then check with the Attendance Office (in between classes) to see if the parent has called with the dismissal time.\u00a0 The Attendance Office will follow up by contacting the parent to verify the early dismissal.\u00a0 If the parent cannot be reached to verify the early dismissal, the student could be refused permission to leave. When picking up a student, the parent must come to the attendance office to meet the child and sign the early dismissal book.\u00a0 Students will be allowed to leave with another parent if a note is presented to the administration and parental approval is confirmed.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u2022 Class cannot be disrupted to call students down to Attendance.\u00a0 Failure to follow these guidelines will result in a unnecessary delay picking up your child.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u2022 It is against New Jersey State statute to use cell phones during the school day, so we remind students and parents that either the nurse or the Attendance Office staff will allow students to make calls on office phones to their parents.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u2022 Students who leave school without administrative or parental permission will be considered truant and dealt with severely.
