In English I Advanced we will<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> develop fluency in listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing, studying, and critical-thinking skills. The course focuses on vocabulary, grammar usage and mechanics, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph logic, fundamentals of writing, and major literary genres. We will <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">write in a variety of modes,and practice all stages of the writing process (prewriting, drafting, revising, and reflecting).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In our literature course, we will work toward understanding that:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Authors meticulously craft works of fiction and nonfiction with specific literary elements to develop a story with nuanced and complex meaning.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meaning is extracted from a text by analyzing literal, figurative, and implied information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A full understanding of the text is developed through meaningful analysis and insightful claims.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please see Google Classroom for all of the materials for our class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to English I Advanced.
