While students over 16 aren&#8217;t legally required to attend, we&#8217;ll make every effort to ensure the school is meeting the needs of any student who wishes to withdraw.<\/p>\n<h3>Permanent Withdrawal<\/h3>\n<p>If a student wants to withdraw permanently, they must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get a withdrawal form from the guidance office for a parent or guardian&#8217;s signature.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with their guidance counselor to discuss their reasons.<\/li>\n<li>The guidance counselor will review their file to confirm they&#8217;ve received all entitled educational services.<\/li>\n<li>The student will be offered an exit conference with their guidance counselor and\/or the Principal. During this meeting, they&#8217;ll learn about:\n<ul>\n<li>The benefits of continuing their education later for a high school diploma (e.g., Adult High School Program).<\/li>\n<li>The possibility of re-enrolling until age 20 (or 21 for students with educational disabilities).<\/li>\n<li>Educational opportunities in the Armed Forces that can count towards a high school diploma.<\/li>\n<li>The continued availability of high school counseling services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Guidance Director will report the withdrawal and its reasons to meet state requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Transferring to Another School<\/h3>\n<p>If a student is transferring to a different public or private school, they need to get a transfer form from the guidance office for parent or guardian approval. When a parent withdraws a student to transfer, we&#8217;ll ask for the name and location of the new school to facilitate record transfer.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Student Responsibilities Upon Withdrawal or Transfer<\/h3>\n<p>A student who withdraws or transfers must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Return all school property, such as books and uniforms, and get a receipt.<\/li>\n<li>Clear out their locker(s) and return any district-owned locks.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve any library obligations (materials or fines).<\/li>\n<li>Pay any fines for damaged or lost textbooks.<\/li>\n<li>Submit the properly authorized withdrawal or transfer form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Records<\/h3>\n<p>Student records for transfers will be sent to the new school.
