3:15pm Activities Bus runs Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 3:15pm beginning 9\/3\/25.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>North Hunterdon High School now has a population that is larger than some of our sending districts.\u00a0 Well over 2000 people arrive each day on the North Campus.<\/li>\n<li>The volume of traffic on campus has increased dramatically, making congestion a daily nuisance.\u00a0 We have had several minor accidents on campus already, as impatient drivers, adults as well as students, try to speed around school buses and other drivers.\u00a0 Luckily, no one has been injured.<\/li>\n<li>We need to remind everyone who comes to the North Campus that all New Jersey traffic regulations are in force here,\u00a0 and Clinton Township Police have every right to enforce the following traffic regulations:<\/li>\n<li>Students leaving North at 2:31 PM\u00a0 are not be allowed to exit campus in their cars until ALL school buses have be dismissed.<\/li>\n<li>Buses do not run on early dismissal days.<\/li>\n<li>Barriers and attendants will restrict the cars from exiting until the buses leave.<\/li>\n<li>All student vehicles must exit through the Regional Road exit.<\/li>\n<li>The Maintenance Yard exit down by the District Office will be locked.\u00a0 No one may enter or exit through that area.<\/li>\n<li>School buses ALWAYS have the right of way.<\/li>\n<li>All cars on campus must yield to pedestrians.<\/li>\n<li>The speed limit on campus is 10 miles per hour.<\/li>\n<li>Any students who ignore these safety regulations will have their parking permits revoked.<\/li>\n<li>All school regulations are in effect during the Curriculum and Instruction period.\u00a0 No students are to be in the halls without hall passes, and every student must be in a designated area under the supervision of a North staff member.<\/li>\n<li>Students in the building without supervision are subject to disciplinary action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any questions on bussing, please contact href=\"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/guidance\/north-hunterdon-voorhees-contact\/\">Guidance Counselor<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Students who remain on campus will be supervised in one of several areas:\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Reading Writing Lab<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Media Center <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students doing research, presentations, or other school work should report to either the Media Center or the Reading\/Writing Lab.\u00a0 Students may also visit individual teachers for tutoring and makeup work.\u00a0 All others should report to Cafeteria B.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Individual teacher\u2019s\/advisor\u2019s\u00a0 classrooms or resource rooms as arranged<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong><em>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cafeteria B <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Athletes <\/em><\/strong>who do not begin practice until 3:10 PM will report to Cafeteria B.\u00a0 Coaches may ask students to report to practice earlier, but the coaches assume all responsibility for supervising athletes from that time until parent pickup.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong><em>NOTE:\u00a0 After school on Tuesday and Friday: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students who remain on Tuesdays or Fridays will report to Caf\u00e9 B.\u00a0 They will be dismissed at 3:10 PM.\u00a0 Busing will not be available on Tuesdays,\u00a0Fridays, and Early Dismissal days. <strong>The 3:15pm Activities Bus runs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Bus Pass Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Bus passes will be issued in accordance with the following procedure:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><u>For a student going home on another student\u2019s bus for one day<\/u>, 2 notes are needed, one from each parent\/guardian. If one (or both) of the students does not have a written note, the Attendance Office will need parent\/guardian verification either verbally by phone or in an e-mail sent to the Attendance Office.\u00a0 If both students\u2019 parent\/guardian does not verify\/confirm the request, the bus pass will be denied.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Bus pass requests must be communicated to the Attendance Office<\/strong>.<\/span> Bus passes are not issued by the Counseling Office (except possibly in cases of new students or students who have a change of address) or the Transportation Office.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><u>If the bus pass is needed for a student with dual residences<\/u>, the parent must contact the ESC transportation office directly (908-638-5904) to request permission for the student to use the alternate route as needed throughout the year.\u00a0 Transportation will provide the parent with the alternate bus route number, which the parent then needs to forward to the Attendance Office for the issuance of the permanent pass. This type of open-ended bus pass request should be e-mailed to Joanne Cobb in the Attendance Office at <u>jcobb@nhvweb.net<\/u>.\u00a0 Once the pass has been issued, the student must go to the Attendance Office to get the pass.\u00a0 (<em>Please note:\u00a0 secondary residence passes must be reissued every year since bus routes are periodically changed due to demographic shifts in the school population<\/em>.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><u>If the bus pass is requested for employment purposes<\/u>, the student must bring in a note from the employer (a general communication confirming the student\u2019s employment)\u00a0<u>and <\/u>a note from a parent\/guardian.\u00a0<em>If the student needs to go on a different bus<\/em>, the parent\/guardian must first call the ESC Transportation Office directly (908-638-5904) to get the applicable bus route information and check availability of space on the bus. The bus route information should be in the parent\/guardian note to the Attendance Office.\u00a0 A bus pass issued for employment purposes will be open-ended for the student to use as needed throughout the school year.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As with secondary residence passes, a bus pass for employment purposes must be reissued every academic year.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bus Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\"><strong>SCHOOL BUS BEHAVIOR\/PUPIL RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All buses equipped with seat belts require that students must wear them at all times while being transported.<\/p>\n<p>A pupil may be excluded from the bus for disciplinary reasons by the Administration and his\/her parent shall provide for his\/her transportation to and from school during the period of exclusion.\u00a0 Title 18A:25-2.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Be on time at designated bus stop.\u00a0 Student(s) must be ready <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">ten<\/span> minutes prior to their scheduled pickup time. The bus must keep to schedule to insure the safety of other pupils.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Never stand in the roadway while waiting for the bus.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Be careful approaching bus stops enroute from home.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bus riders shall conduct themselves in a safe manner while waiting.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Avoid crowding and pushing in getting on or off the bus.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do not move toward the bus at the loading zone until the bus comes to a complete stop.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Never enter or leave the bus while it is in motion.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do not destroy or damage property while waiting for the bus.\u00a0 Bus stops may be discontinued for such action.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On the bus, go immediately to assigned seat and remain there until bus reaches the school.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Keep arms or other parts of the body inside the bus at all times after entering and until leaving bus.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist in keeping the bus safe and sanitary at all times.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Obey the driver promptly and cheerfully.\u00a0 He\/She has a large responsibility and pupils must help him in his job.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Loud talking, laughter or undue confusion tends to divert the driver\u2019s attention.\u00a0 Remember, your life depends on must approve these exceptions before approval is given to the sponsored organization). <a name=\"complaintsandgrievances\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bus Courtyard Layout Diagram The 3:15pm Activities Bus runs Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 3:15pm beginning 9\/3\/25.
