Our district recognizes and celebrates students who demonstrate high academic achievement and exceptional involvement in co-curricular activities.<\/p>\n
Students in grades 9-12 can earn a place on one of two honor rolls each marking period:<\/p>\n
High Honor Roll:<\/b> Awarded to students with a grade of 94 or above in all subjects.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Honor Roll:<\/b> Awarded to students with a grade of 90 or better in all subjects (excluding those on the High Honor Roll).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n To be eligible, students must not have any incomplete grades or have dropped a course after the mid-point of the marking period. The counseling office prepares and verifies these lists, which are then displayed at each school.<\/p>\n We recognize academic excellence, including:<\/p>\n Valedictorian:<\/b> The student with the highest scholastic rank in the graduating class.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Salutatorian:<\/b> The student with the second-highest scholastic rank in the graduating class.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Honor Graduates:<\/b> Graduates with a four-year cumulative GPA of 94 or higher receive “High Honors,” while those with a 90 or higher receive “Honors.”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n The counseling staff regularly reviews academic awards to ensure their continued relevance and makes recommendations for additions or removals. We are committed to ensuring all students have an equal opportunity to compete for awards, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, ancestry, national origin, disability, or social or economic status. Awards offered by outside individuals or organizations are also permitted under district guidelines.<\/p>\n Students who meet the qualifications set by the National Honor Society and our local chapters are eligible for membership.<\/p>\n Individual students can also be recognized for outstanding achievements in co-curricular activities (excluding athletics). Similar to academic awards, these are regularly reviewed, and we ensure equal opportunity for all students, regardless of background. Outside co-curricular awards are also allowed.<\/p>\n Teachers are encouraged to report any outstanding student accomplishments not covered by these specific recognitions to the Principal for potential consideration by the Board.<\/p>\n Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Honor Graduates are announced and recognized at the high school graduation ceremony. Other academic, scholarship, co-curricular, and athletic awards are presented at the Underclassmen Awards Ceremony and the Senior Class Awards Ceremony.
