{"id":1303,"date":"2025-04-04T11:52:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T11:52:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/nhhs\/athletics\/parentstudenthandbook\/?page_id=1303"},"modified":"2025-07-29T14:02:46","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T14:02:46","slug":"honor-roll","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/nhhs\/athletics\/parentstudenthandbook\/honor-roll\/","title":{"rendered":"Honor Roll"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<div id=\"model-response-message-contentr_a85e8a9258ebe745\" class=\"markdown markdown-main-panel tutor-markdown-rendering enable-updated-hr-color\" dir=\"ltr\"><hr \/>\n<h2>Honoring Student Achievement<\/h2>\n<p>Our district celebrates student excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.<\/p>\n<h3>Honor Rolls<\/h3>\n<p>High school students (grades 9-12) can earn <b>Honor Roll<\/b> recognition each marking period.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><b>High Honor Roll<\/b> is for students with a grade of 94 or higher in all subjects.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The <b>Honor Roll<\/b> includes students with a grade of 90 or better in all subjects (excluding those on the High Honor Roll).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be eligible, students must not have any incomplete grades or have dropped a course after the mid-point of the marking period. The counseling office prepares these lists, which are then displayed by each school Principal.<\/p>\n<p>For graduation, <b>High Honors<\/b> require a four-year cumulative GPA of 94 or higher, and <b>Honors<\/b> require a four-year cumulative average of 90 or higher.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Academic Awards<\/h3>\n<p>We recognize academic leaders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>The <b>Valedictorian<\/b> is the graduating student with the highest academic rank.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The <b>Salutatorian<\/b> is the graduating student with the second-highest academic rank.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our counseling staff annually reviews and recommends updates to academic awards to ensure their continued relevance. We are dedicated to ensuring fair competition for all awards, free from discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, gender, ancestry, national origin, disability, or socioeconomic status. Outside academic awards are also permitted.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>National Honor Society<\/h3>\n<p>Students meeting the qualifications set by the National Honor Society and our local chapters are eligible for membership.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Co-curricular Awards<\/h3>\n<p>We also recognize students who excel in co-curricular activities (excluding athletics). Our counseling staff regularly reviews these awards and ensures all students have an equal opportunity to compete, without discrimination.
