{"id":5940,"date":"2019-10-16T08:11:39","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T12:11:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/?p=5940"},"modified":"2019-10-16T08:12:03","modified_gmt":"2019-10-16T12:12:03","slug":"staff-in-service-focuses-on-articulation-for-all-grade-levels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/index.php\/2019\/10\/staff-in-service-focuses-on-articulation-for-all-grade-levels\/","title":{"rendered":"Staff In-Service Focuses on Articulation for All Grade Levels"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In its ongoing efforts to increase articulation and collaboration across all the districts within the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District, the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Superintendents Association is utilizing the full-day staff in-service day on Monday, October 14, 2019, for articulation meetings with teachers in all grade levels, PreK &#8211; 12. This will be the first time articulation meetings are being held for teachers in PreK to 5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> grades.\u00a0 Articulation has been ongoing for superintendents and for teachers in higher grade levels to share best practices in their subject area and how to best prepare students for the transition to the 9-12<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> grade regional high school district.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School districts participating in this joint staff in-service day include Clinton-Glen Gardner, High Bridge, Lebanon Borough, Lebanon Township, and North Hunterdon-Voorhees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The October 14<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> schedule will begin with an important keynote address on Mindset by Jerome Addison from Effective School Solutions, which is open to any interested teacher or administrator.\u00a0 The keynote address will focus on the importance of the contrast between a fixed versus a growth mindset and how it impacts a student\u2019s level of success. During the second part of the morning, teachers will break out into their articulation groups, by grade level for PreK &#8211; 5, and by subject level for grades 6 &#8211; 12. After introductions, facilitators will lead a discussion on articulation goals, and then attendees will complete a needs assessment for future meeting planning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur subject-area articulation groups with 8th- and 9th-grade teachers have been very successful, and we are very excited to now bring together teachers from PreK through 12 grade.
