The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District congratulates\nthe following students who have been named Semifinalists and Commended Students\nin the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Semifinalists are Ryder DeCanio and Kaylyn Feeley from North\nHunterdon High School.\u00a0 Semifinalists\nhave the opportunity to continue in the scholarship competition and advance to\nFinalist to receive a scholarship.\u00a0 They\nare among 16,000 top scorers in the country on the 2017 Preliminary\nSAT\/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT\/NMSQT\u00ae<\/sup>).\nSemifinalists will be notified in February if they have advanced to the\nFinalist level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Twenty students from North Hunterdon High School and six\nfrom Voorhees High School have been selected as Commended Students in the 2019 National\nMerit Scholarship Program. They are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ethan Avecillas, Gwenyth Bernick, Rebecca Beswick, Abhay\nBhatt, Katherine Carney, Richard Chen, Amanda Chisholm, Megan Clements, Evan\nFerry, Abigail Fiorentino, Luke Hannon, Arthur Lai, Alison Leung, Adam\nLum-Debono, Rachel Mead, Jonathan Murry, Liam Smeraglia, Tara Teipel, Kateryna\nVoznyuk, and Trevor Wise from North Hunterdon High School; and Naomi Benenson,\nWarren Cheng, Garrett Dirienz, Ryan Mauriello, Tushya Mishra, and Julia\nSilberman from Voorhees High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A letter of commendation from the school and National Merit\nScholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by the\nhigh school principals to these scholastically talented seniors who have been\nselected as Commended Students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are\nbeing recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
